Marine Fuel Vapor Canister Kits
Boat fuel tanks vent. Boat compartments are sealed. The result is a problem you can smell every time you open the hatch.
Marine fuel tanks — whether OE polyethylene tanks, aluminum builders' tanks, or aftermarket fuel cells — almost always vent to atmosphere through a fitting that exits the hull or engine compartment. Modern ethanol-blended marine fuel evaporates aggressively, and that vapor accumulates in lockers, bilges, cabins, and trailer storage.
The Vapor Trapper™ installs inline on the vent and absorbs the vapor passively. No power required. No purge valve.
Marine install considerations
- Mount above the tank's high-water line — the vent line should run uphill from tank to canister so liquid fuel can't reach the charcoal
- Use marine-grade fuel hose between the tank vent and the canister — alcohol-resistant, USCG-rated
- Pick the 8" canister for larger tanks — typical inboard or twin-tank setups will saturate a 6" faster
- Add the K&N slip-on filter on the atmosphere side if you store the boat in a salty or dust-prone environment
VaporCanister.com is an authorized retailer of the Vapor Trapper™ by Shop48. Made in USA, lifetime manufacturer warranty.
