Brass 3/8" Hose Barb x 1/8" Male NPT 90° Elbow for Filler Neck Applications

Brass 3/8" hose barb to 1/8" male NPT 90° elbow. The connector that lets you tap a Vapor Trapper™ vent line off a vehicle that uses a vented gas cap instead of a threaded tank vent.

Typical applications

• Early Ford Mustangs (1964½ through 1969 - no factory evap)
• Most 1950s and 1960s passenger cars and trucks
• Any vehicle where the only factory vent path is through the gas cap

Specifications

• Body: Solid brass
• Hose barb: 3/8" ID, fits standard fuel-rated vapor hose
• Thread: 1/8" male NPT, 90° elbow
• Fuel-compatible (gasoline, ethanol blends up to E85)

Installation

1. Remove the existing filler tube from the fuel tank.
2. Drill a 1/8" NPT hole in the filler tube above the highest fuel level. Use a tap to thread the hole.
3. Apply fuel-rated thread sealant to the elbow threads. Install the elbow into the filler tube, orienting the barb so the vent line runs up and forward.
4. Reinstall the filler tube.
5. Replace the vented gas cap with a non-vented cap.
6. Route 3/8" vapor hose from the elbow up to the Vapor Trapper™, with a high loop near the canister to prevent liquid migration.
